Agapè Centre is the recipient of a Feeding Families Fund grant to develop a new program that connects families and children with creating healthy meals at a low cost. Thanks to McCain Foods Canada, Nestlé Canada and Food Banks Canada for supporting a series that will engage families to cook more meals together from “scratch”. Each session will be free of charge and offer participants foods to take home, as well as provide an easy to use tool-kit for future use.
“I am very excited to start this program at the Agapè Centre. We see so many families come through our doors and are now able to offer them a series of workshops that will increase their knowledge of healthy nutrition supports our mission,” stated Alyssa Blais, Executive Director of the Agapè Centre. Over the years, the Agapè Centre has experienced an increased demand for services and wants to make certain that no one goes hungry in the community. “Thanks to grants such as this one from Food Banks Canada, we will be able to offer more support to our local families in need,” said Alyssa. “We are thankful to McCain Foods Canada and Nestlé Canada for their generous financial support.”
