COVID-19 has hit the world hard so we hope you’re all coping with these challenging times. We know many companies are looking for ways to adapt to the Coronavirus applications and obstacles in the way of normalcy at this time. We are trying our best to keep everything running as smoothly as possible because there are so many uncertainties in the world. While the government decides our collective next steps, for example, what states are open or should remain closed, we can only do our best to keep moving forward.
We will make every effort to ensure that our clients are supported while we take the necessary Covid-19 precautions. This includes making sure all our staff each have an N95 Respirator to protect themselves while working, ensuring that social distancing guidelines are being carried out where possible, and increasing the availability of hand gel and hand washing stations where possible. Lots of businesses are also purchasing acrylic shields to protect both staff and any clients/customers from each other. These are all necessary changes to ensure we can continue to provide.
The Agape Centre is making every effort to ensure that our clients continue to receive the support they require to meet their daily needs.
We will be serving a hot meal today to small groups of no more than 10 people at one sitting. Our hours will be extended to ensure that each person has a hot meal.
The soup kitchen will be closed for the remainder of the week. For those people not attending the soup kitchen today, they can call and make arrangements to pick up a “lunch bag”.
Each person visiting the soup kitchen today will receive a bag of groceries that will fulfill lunches for the next four days.
Appointments for the food bank will continue as scheduled. Prepared boxes of food will be given out at the door – there will be no access to the food bank. Boxes will be equal to the amount of food received during a regular appointment.
